Lauren Sanchez Reveals Engagement Details and Wedding Plans with Jeff Bezos in Vogue Interview

Lauren Sanchez recently shared intimate details about her engagement to Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos with Vogue, including the moment she first saw her stunning pink-diamond ring. The 53-year-old former journalist recounted how Bezos, 59, proposed to her at sea during a romantic dinner under the stars in May.

In the interview, Lauren described how Bezos had cleverly hidden the ring under her pillow, leading to a surprise discovery at bedtime. "When he opened the box, I think I blacked out a bit," Lauren admitted, speaking of the unforgettable moment. The couple, engaged for just five months, graced the magazine's December issue with glamorous shots taken in West Texas, where Bezos sported a cowboy hat.

Discussing their wedding plans, Sanchez revealed that they were still contemplating the scale and location of the event. While they are undecided about the wedding specifics, Lauren is currently more focused on planning Bezos's 60th birthday party in January.

Regarding the wedding preparations, Bezos humorously remarked that he wouldn’t be heavily involved: "Oh, God, no. Do I look that dumb?" he said with a laugh. When asked about changing her last name, Lauren enthusiastically confirmed she would become Mrs. Bezos.

In the interview, Bezos also expressed his admiration for Sanchez, praising her exceptional intuition and empathy. He credited Lauren with encouraging him to invest more time in personal relationships, often reminding him to connect with family members. Bezos described her as a great role model, noting her habit of calling loved ones, especially her sister, even during routine activities like makeup application.

Contrary to the perception of a glamorous life with one of the richest men in the world, Sanchez's sister, Elena Sánchez Blair, revealed a more grounded reality. "Since she's been with Jeff, she is more peaceful and more herself," Elena said. She painted a picture of a laid-back lifestyle, often spent in casual attire, enjoying simple games and phone apps together.

In the interview, a clearly smitten Lauren described Bezos as the 'life of the party,' highlighting his enthusiasm, humor, and goofiness. The couple, who embarked on a lavish Mediterranean tour aboard Bezos's $500 million superyacht Koru, has been enjoying their "new beginnings," with stops in Portofino, Saint-Tropez, and Cannes among others.
