Self-Portrait Lunar New Year 2023 Campaign

Fashion brand Self-Portrait brings an aesthetically pleasing new campaign for its Lunar New Year 2023 Collection. Lensed in a studio setting by fashion photographer Alexandra Leese, with the creative direction of Han Chong and styling of Audrey Hu, the brand's new collection is presented which includes bright hues and delicate pastels. The stars of the campaign are models Estelle Chen and Huijia Chen, who are dolled up for the shoot by hair stylist Kiyoko Odo and makeup artist Anne Sophie Costa. The campaign is a celebration of family and friendship, which is highlighted in the shoot through the elements of unity, community and shared rituals. Han and Alexandra have drawn inspiration from their heritage for the shoot, and have also embraced both the intimacy and energy of family bonding through tradition in the set of images. Other than the apparel, Self-Portrait's Bow Bag is the limelight of the shoot, which is presented in festive hues of red, gold and silver.

Lunar New Year is one of my favourite times of the year…it is a time for ritual, for reflection and of course for celebration! Having grown up in Malaysia, I witnessed first hand the importance of this occasion for the women in my life – the rituals of dressing for festivities and what a special time it is for family and sisterhood. Since then, I’ve always tried to pay homage to this holiday through my work, and this year we collaborated with Alexandra Leese to capture our dedicated collection as well as the spirit, tradition and warmth of the season. – Han Chong

The new self-portrait Lunar New Year collection features styles for women and kids including designs inspired by the cheongsam. Pieces in vibrant reds and delicate pastels are available in signature Guipure lace, crepe, bouclé, and knitted fabrics.
