Hilton heiress Paris Hilton made a stunning bride for her wedding with Carter Reum. Held at the former Bel Air estate of the bride’s late grandfather Barron Hilton, the successor of hotelier Conrad Hilton and the venture capitalist made a stunning couple. The two have had known each other for over 15 years, and the couple became engaged when Carter took Paris on a joint birthday vacation at a private island in February earlier this year. Paris recalls it had been a romantic day, and the Reality TV star's family members and close friends had flown out for the moment too.
“Carter and I have been friends for over 15 years,” Paris says of how she and her now-husband first got together. “We stayed in each other’s lives over time, and we reconnected at a Thanksgiving get-together in 2019. From that night, I felt the spark, and the rest is history.”
Carter proposed with a ring designed by Jean Dousset, the great-grandson of Louis Cartier. The emerald cut diamond took inspiration by classic Art Nouveau aesthetics and the vaulted glass ceiling of the Grand Palais. The couple held their bachelor and bachelorette parties in Las Vegas in October, followed by an Alice in Wonderland-themed bridal shower hosted by Paris’s mother, Kathy, her sister Nicky, and her close friend Tina Chen Craig.
Celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss and her team were hired by Paris and Carter to handle everything regarding their wedding, from aesthetics to logistics, and the date of the wedding 11:11 was inspired by Paris's favourite numerals on the clock, and her new venture, a media company, also takes the title of the same numerals.
On November 11, 2021, Paris walked down the aisle wearing a a custom Oscar de la Renta gown, decked in white floral appliques, featuring a long train and a mock neck as well, while Kim Petras sang “I Can't Help Falling in Love.” Oscar de la Renta designers, Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim worked for months to create a timeless, elegant, chic, and iconic gown, while Paris's stylist Sammy K helped her select accessories. Her look for the wedding was kept chic and beautiful, and Paris was a sight to behold. Slim and statuesque, Paris was a true beauty, sophisticated with her blonde hair up with carefully curled strands framing her face, giving her a retro feel.
Tessa Hilton, Halle Reum, Brooke Brinson, Whitney Davis, and Farrah Aldjufrie served as bridesmaids, wearing Alice & Olivia pink lace dresses, while Nicky Hilton Rothschild acted as the maid of honor, also in Alice & Olivia. The groom, Carter, wore a Zegna made-to-measure navy silk Setadoppione single-breasted shawl lapel tuxedo, while the groomsmen were in Nigel Curtiss custom tuxedos with shoes from Scarosso, bow ties from Shawn Christopher, socks by Dead Soxy, and cufflinks by Cartier.
“As a little girl, I always told myself that I would get married at my grandfather's former estate,” the bride explains. “I imagined having my fairy tale wedding here, and it's amazing that it actually came true. This estate brings back so many memories, and it means so much to be here surrounded by family and connected to all my loved ones on this day.”
After Paris and Carter were pronounced husband and wife, the guests gathered for a seated dinner in the tent, and Demi Lovato gave a special performance of “I Will Always Love You.” The newlyweds’ first dance was to Bruno Mars’s “Just The Way You Are," and guests were treated to a 5-tier wedding cake, created by Joan and Leigh Cakes. For the reception, Paris changed into a second shorter look by Oscar de la Renta, a white mini dress baring her toned legs, with floral appliques just like her bridal gown, on her shoulders and neckline.
“Throughout the years, I was always searching for my partner,” Paris says, reflecting the morning after the wedding. “Not only someone to share my dreams with but a man to build a future together. I was looking for my equal. Someone who wasn’t fascinated with ‘Paris Hilton’ but instead, someone who saw the real me and loved me for me. Someone who is loving and kind. Someone to be a father to my future children. I’m so proud of my love story with Carter, and even more excited that it’s just beginning.”
