John Legend, known to make history as a handful few to have won the EGOT - Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony, adds another feather to his cap, the PEOPLE's Sexiest Man Alive 2019! The talented singer with a buttery smooth voice is one of the only 15 stars to achieve EGOT status last year, and comes in the news with his PEOPLE's title.

Following his first Grammy win in 2006 with his debut album 'Get Lifted', John rose to stardom and fame. The 40 year old is also a family man - undeniably in love with his former Sports Illustrated Swim wife Chrissy Teigen and their kids, 3½-year-old daughter Luna and 18-month-old son Miles, and continues to be a charming, handsome and lovable down-to-earth man.

Also a coach on The Voice, John admits to being excited yet scared when he heard of his new title, "I was excited, but I was a little scared at the same time because it's a lot of pressure. Everyone's going to be picking me apart to see if I'm sexy enough to hold this title. I'm [also] following Idris Elba, which is not fair and is not nice to me!"

Humble and kind, John comes from a hardworking family, his mother Phyllis, a seamstress, and his dad Ronald, a factory worker, taught him to stay grounded and 'treat other people the way you want to be treated.'

With a happy and successful life now, John couldn't be more content, "I'm so proud that I have a wife and two kids I'm so in love with and so connected to. I'm also so proud of my career, I love writing songs and performing on stage. I get a lot of joy from it and give a lot of joy to other people. I’m pretty at ease with myself now!"
