The Duchess of Cambridge impresses in teal as she visits Lahore's Badshahi Mosque

The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, made a stunning appearance in a teal outfit as she visited Lahore's historic Badshahi Mosque.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge continued their tour of Pakistan, and arrived today in Lahore, nearly 30 years after the late Princess Diana made a trip there. Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, looked around the magnificent Badshahi Mosque, which is one of the most iconic Islamic sites in Lahore, set in the heart of the walled city, with a history from the Mughal era.

The royals toured the grand mosque and its courtyard, and later joined a discussion with faith leaders to understand how they are promoting interfaith harmony within their communities.

The Duke of Cambridge was smarty dressed in a cream linen suit and black socks with his shoes off, while the duchess went barefoot - as a sign of respect for the mosque, as they visited the Badshahi Mosque, built by Emperor Aurangzeb in 1671.

Kate Middleton, who has already made a place in the hearts of Pakistanis, looked lovely clad in a teal chiffon shalwar kameez, with embroidered details down the front, by designer Maheen Khan, and paired it with a matching 'dupatta' - a scarf to cover her head inside the mosque.

Inside the mosque, the royal couple was given a brief history of the building before being invited to sit down cross legged with a group of religious leaders and specialists to indulge into a discussion to understand how they are promoting interfaith harmony.

Sitting respectfully down on the carpet, a prayer from the Holy Quran in Arabic was read out with its English translation, to which the couple listened intently. The couple later visited the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital - the hospital built by the current Prime Minister Imran Khan, where Lady Diana visited twice, last in the year before she died.
