Kate Middleton is in labour. Royal Baby is on the way, as millions await the future heir of the British throne.
Pregnancy rumours surrounded the Duchess of Cambridge as early as September 2012, when she opted for water instead of wine on an official trip to Singapore. It was evident then, that the Royal couple is trying for a baby. Hardly eight weeks pregnant, Kate Middeton's pregnancy news was confirmed when she was rushed to King Edward VII Hospital on the morning of December 3rd with acute morning sickness. The couple, Prince William and Kate, later that day confirmed the news on their official website, and Kate left the hospital with glowing cheeks, dressed in knee-length suede ankle boots and a navy coat.
From there the watch on the baby bump started! Many compared Princess Diana's and Kate's pregnancy style, but the charming Kate sure rocked her own looks perfectly. From gorgeous Alexander McQueen at the Sports Personality of the Year Awards, to a MaxMara wrap dress, and a £1000 Erdem dress, Kate wore it all. Along with expensive luxe looks, Kate also channelled the everyday British woman in inexpensive yet chic looks of Asos maternity dresses.
On June 14, at her last official public assignment at the Princess Cruises Naming of the Ship Ceremony, Kate was happy, and all-smiles with a huge baby bump. She had let slip out that her due-date was mid-July, specifically July 13, but the couple had kept the gender of the baby a surprise for themselves. The watch started on the arrival of the baby. Some said that like Princess Diana, Kate might have disclosed the wrong due date as to avert the attention from the baby, but that didn't stop reporters and photographers from camping outside the hospital from as early as July 1. The Duchess's due-date came and went by, but there was no news of the baby. Kate was over-due, which is a normal thing when mothers opt for an all natural birth.
Today, in the early hours of the morning, Kate arrived with Prince William by her side, with the early signs of labour, at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital, where both Prince William and Prince Harry were born. While labour could take up to 12 hours, thousands have flocked over to the Buckingham Place, as they await news of the birth of the future heir. Security is tight, and bookies are playing bets on the gender, name, and even the eye-colour of the baby. The Prince or Princess of Cambridge, will replace Prince Harry as third in line to the British throne.
The Queen has arrived to the Buckingham Palace, and will be the first one to be informed of the birth of the baby. Prince Charles was on an official two-day assignment in Yorkshire, but is making his way back to London. Prince William is by his wife's side, but Carol and Pippa Middleton, who were to be with the Duchess haven't arrived yet, but are said to reach there shortly. The news of the baby's birth will be displayed on an easel at the gates of The Buckingham Palace. The Palace's official Twitter account will also 'tweet' of the news.
A charming little Prince, or a beautiful little Princess, here's wishing the Royal couple and the little one best wishes! Popular name suggestions include Alexandra, George, James, and Diana.
